Thanks to the hospitality of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), the parishioners of the Cathedral of Saint Sava in New York celebrated Pascha in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Sign in Manhattan.
Along with a large number of gathered parishioners, Paschal Orthros and Divine Liturgy were served by the presiding of the dean of the Cathedral of Saint Sava – Very Reverend Presybiter Milan Dragović – with concelebrating of Very Reverend protopresbyter-stavrophoros Živojin Jakovljević, along with the prayerful presence of the Vicar Bishop of Manhattan G. Nikolaj from the ROCOR, accompanied by the beautiful singing of the church choir led by Ms. Natasa Đurđević, and with help from the altar boys Veljko Dobrilović, Vasilije and Justin Dragović, and Luka Galić.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, after reading The Paschal Encyclical of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Fr. Milan congratulated the Feast Day to all gathered parishioners and thanked Bishop Nikolaj for his hospitality and love. Bishop Nikolaj thanked us for the greetings, wished everyone a warm welcome, and reminded us of the mutual friendship between our two people. He thanked the Serbian people for the love they showed for the refugees of the Russian people during the revolution in 1917, which they never forget.
The families of Zvezdan and Jovanka Radosavljević, and Nenad and Natalija Miković prepared the brunch for all those present after Liturgy.
The faces of the parishioners present showed the great joy of Easter and the hope that God will honor us to celebrate His Resurrection next year in His and our Home – the Cathedral of Saint Sava.
CHRIST IS RISEN!
