2016-2017 Walton Lecture Series:
Christian Rigorists and the Perversion of Tradition
by George Demacopoulos, Ph.D.
Fordham University
October 25, 2016 | 6:30 p.m.

Within nearly every Christian denomination, a rigorist faction purports to protect tradition from the challenges of secular modernity. But these would-be defenders have transformed their communities more completely than those they accuse of modernism. This lecture will propose ways that Christians can live within a tradition without lapsing into fundamentalism.

The Walton lectures and workshops allow New York-area professionals to interact with leading scholars concerning topics at the intersection of science, philosophy, and theology.

Lectures are free and open to the public. Each will be followed by a reception. Learn more and register at Fordham.edu/Walton.

All lectures will be held in the 12th-Floor Lounge, E. Gerald Corrigan Conference Center, Fordham University Lincoln Center campus, 113 W. 60th St., New York, NY, 10023.
