Mark was raised in San Diego, California and is the son of Serbian parents who emigrated to the US after the Second World War. He and his brothers and sister grew up around St George Serbian Orthodox Church in San Diego where his parents were members of various boards at the church. Mark has an undergraduate and a graduate degree from University of California at Santa Barbara. He met his wife Dijana, also of Serbian descent, and the two have been married since 2000. They moved to New York in 2003 and are raising their 3 young boys on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Mark is an award-winning residential real estate broker at Compass and is on the firm’s Strategy Committee. He has helped build the company from 30 agents and 20 support staff to over 1,500 staff and agents in 8 strategic nationwide interconnected cities in just 2 and half years. The firm currently has a valuation of over $1 billion and is poised to become a global brand in the coming years. Mark is an active member of the New York Athletic Club, the Central Park Conservancy, the New York Historical Society and the American Museum of Natural History.
